Born July 22, 1888, in Conemaugh Township, Somerset County, the son of Jacob and Amanda (Stauffer) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents, two sisters and three brothers. Was the brother of Martha, widow of Josiah Hershberger, Allegheny Lutheran Home, Johnstown; Lizzie, widow of Menno Eash and Rebecca, wife of Clayton G. Keim, both of Hollsopple RD 1; and Ada, widow of Jerry Seese, Largo, Fla. Member of Thomas Mennonite Church, Boswell Post 481 American Legion, Pennsylvania Barracks 3168, Veterans of World War I of the USA; and Hunter-Weaver Post 795 VFW, Scalp Level. Was a veteran of World War I and a retired carpenter. Friends received after 2 p.m. Friday at the Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Donald Speigle officiating. Interment, Thomas Mennonite Cemetery.
