  THOMAS
  
  Muriel C. Thomas, 88, formerly of Boswell, died July 4, 1985, at Somerset
  Community Hospital.  Born Dec. 13, 1896, in Jenner Township, Somerset
  County, daughter of Simon and Elizabeth (Frieberg) Shaffer.  Preceded in
  death by parents, husband Cletus W. (died March 12, 1976); son Oland G.
  "Bud" (died March 27, 1985), and two sisters, Erma Thomas and Beulah
  Stanton.  Survived by son, Burton W., married to the former June McVicker,
  Stoystown RD 1; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.  Sister of Ruth
  Benford, Somerset RD 2; Gladys O'Baker, Berlin.  Member of St. Andrew's
  Lutheran Church, Boswell.  Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Saturday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny St., Boswell, where services
  will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Walter L. Hafer Jr.
  officiating.  Interment, St. James Cemetery.
