Thomas, 66, Glen Burnie, Md., died Jan. 4, 1985, in South Baltimore General Hospital. Born March 9, 1918, in Salisbury, son of late Grant and Orpha (Rubright) Thomas. Also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Younkin and Irene Baer. Survived by wife, Violet; son, Donald, Houston, Texas; daughter, Mrs. Mary Lee Schmidt, Gaithersburg, Md.; two brothers, Kenneth B., Meyersdale; and Ray W., Shreveport, La.; also three grandchildren. Retired rigger foreman at Maryland Dry Dock Shipyards. Veteran of World War II. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Mark J. Stewart officiating.
