Born Sept. 24, 1916 in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Irvin and Mary Oester Thomas. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church (MS), Cove, and was a volunteer Lutheran Braille Worker. He retired after 38 years of service as a grader operator for the Garrett County Roads Department. He is survived by his wife, Beulah C. (Harman) Thomas; two sons: William C. Thomas and wife Kimberly, Oakland, MD, and Robert P. Thomas, Accident; three daughters: Sharon Platter and husband Wayne, Grantsville: Kathy Thomas and Susan Thomas, both of Lexington, KY; one brother, Hubert Thomas, Accident: one aunt, Rosa Richter, Grantsville; and five grandchildren: Christine, David and Keith Platter; and Wesley and Nathan Thomas. Services were held Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church (MS) by the Rev. Ernest Linder. Interment St. John's Cemetery. New Republic, May 6, 1993 [T245]
