  PAUL D. THOMAS
  
  Paul D. Thomas, 61, Garrett RD 1, died June 13, 1983 in Meyersdale
  Community Hospital.  He was born September 18, 1921, in Brothersvalley
  Township, the son of the late William and Matilda (Long) Thomas.  He was
  preceded in death by parents and these brothers and sisters: Glenn, Emma
  Rouser, Hazel and Eva.  He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Bittner) and
  daughters Linda, wife of Eugene Gontis, of Somerset RD 6; Karen Buratty, of
  Somerset; also four grandchildren: Danny, Lori, Amy and Gregory.  Also
  brothers, Charles and Roy, both of Garrett RD 1; Alvin, of Johnstown;
  sisters, Mabel, of Jackson, Florida ; Iva Bridegum, of Strongstown.  He was
  a member of Beachdale Church of the Brethren; was a retired coal miner, and
  retired from PennDOT.  Friends are being received in the Robert H. Halverson
  Funeral Home where services will be conducted Thursday, 1:30 p.m. Rev.
  Wilbur L. Fischer officiating.  Interment, Beachdale Cemetery.
