Thomas, 90, Meyersdale, died Aug. 16, 2005, at the Memorial Medical Center following a short illness. She was born Pauline Marie Anderson on July 22, 1915, in Broadford, a daughter of the late Paul Lloyd and Mary Catherine (Bender) Anderson. Also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth B. Thomas and brothers, Joseph, Donald, Paul and Kenneth Anderson. She is survived by her children, Jo Ann, wife of Dale Meese Sr.; Marla, wife of Ira (Wick) Lichty, both of Salisbury; Paul, Murrysville; and Kenneth Jr., Meyersdale. Also survived by nine grandchildren: Dale Meese Jr., Salisbury, Dawn, Joy, Lisa and Chris Thomas, Meyersdale, Grant and Brian Thomas of Greenbay and Manitowoc Wisconsin, David Thomas, Pittsburgh and Anna (Thomas) Bogue, Ambridge; and six great-grandchildren: Erin (Meese) Bird and Chad Meese, Tyler Henderson, Tyler Thomas and Jacinta and Shaun Thomas. She attended Meyersdale High School and worked at the Hazel McGilvery Hospital and the Meyersdale Shirt Factory. She was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother for the past 68 years and utilized her many skills including seamstress, gardener, general home mechanics and social skills to provide the basis for nurturing the many successes and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was a reader and immensely enjoyed working word puzzles and cross-word puzzles. She had a "midas" touch with "house plants" and loved sharing cuttings and seeds from her plants with others. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in retirement and she took tremendous pride in the maintenance of her home of 58 years at 224 North St. in Meyersdale. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Leckemby Funeral Home, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment, Union Cemetery.
