Thomas, 59, of Baltimore, Md., died Friday, Aug. 18, 1972, in a hospital there after having been admitted Aug. 10. Born in Meyersdale, May 30, 1913, he was a son of Mrs. Martha Pearl (Harden) Thomas, Meyersdale, and the late William H. Thomas, who passed away Jan. 25, 1972. While a young man, he was employed in the former Donges Meat Market in Meyersdale, and for the past 31 years has worked as a delivery truck driver in the Baltimore area for Koester's Bakery. He lived in Parkville, a suburb of Baltimore. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Alma Staub and the following children: Joan McGuigan, Baltimore; Nancy Britt, Morristown, N J. William, of Savannah, Ga.; Barry and Sharon Kay, at home; also three grandchildren; a brother, Albert M. Thomas, Fort Pierce, Fla.; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Beatrice) Hershey, Glen Burnie, Md. Funeral service was held Monday from Evans Funeral Home, Baltimore, with burial in Parkville Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, August 24, 1972 [T255]
