Thomas, 70, Soap Hollow, Conemaugh Township, died Nov. 3, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Jan. 13, 1937, in Conemaugh Township, son of Glen E. Sr. and Reita P. (Saylor) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents; and Father- in-law, H. Merle "Shorty" Gindlesperger. Survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Donna J. Gindlesperger, to whom he was married on Sept. 10, 1955; daughters, Michele L., married to Brian Naugle, Davidsville; and Lisa R., married to Larry McCracken Jr., Richland; and three beloved grandsons, Robbie and Joshua Naugle, and Evan McCracken. Brother of Ruth V., married to Glenn Yoder Jr., Davidsville; Glenn E. Jr., married to Reda Blough, Lititz; and Brenda Lou, Confluence. Also survived by mother-in-law, Virginia (Blough) Gindlesperger, Soap Hollow, and his sisters and brothers by marriage, Dwight Gindlesperger, married to Linda Kaufman, Tire Hill; Audrey, married to Carlton Yoder, Davidsville; Frank Gindlesperger, married to Louise Evanchock, Lehman Acres, Jerome; Darwin Gindlesperger, married to Donna Murphy, Johnstown; and Dwynell, married to Allen Boyer, Gilbert Hollow. Bob is also survived by numerous other relatives on both sides of his family who will miss him greatly. A 1954 graduate of the former Johnstown Mennonite School, Soap Hollow. Began his working years as an electrician for Glenn Yoder Sr. and also worked for Acme Markets prior to he and Donna founding their own business. He was the current owner of Thomas Car Wash Co., beginning first as a car wash owner and later a distributor of car wash equipment. Bob loved all that he did, but his passion was the sport of hunting. He enjoyed passing his knowledge of the woods on to his daughters and grandsons. Those who knew Bob could always rely on one of his interesting hunting stories. Past member and treasurer for 12 years of the Windber Country Club. Member of the Tire Hill Rod and Gun Club. Viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Richland. The Rev. Michael Dunlap and the Rev. David Streets, officiating.
