  Vernon W. "Bud" Thomas, 62, Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Boswell, died Dec.
  25, 1979, at St. Vincent Charity Hospital, Cleveland.  Born May 10, 1917 in
  Jenner Township, a son of James and Erma (Shaffer) Thomas.  Preceded in
  death by parents, and infant sister, Margaret.  Survived by a daughter,
  Connie, wife of Henry Mohle, Johnstown, and four grandchildren.  Brother of
  Jay S., married to the former Ida Belle Hanlin, Boswell RD 1; Hazel, widow
  of Charles Stufft, Somerset RD 2; and Milton V., married to the former
  Evelyn Drabish, Del Ray Beach, Fla.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Thursday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny Street, Boswell,
  where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Robert R.
  Clark, officiating.  Interment, St. James Cemetery.
