Thompson, 81, of Walnut Street, Somerset, died Dec. 28, 1974 in Somerset Community Hospital. Born May 18, 1893 in Spurcetown, a son of the late Martin and Mary Woy Thompson. Preceded in death by his wife, the former Daisy Ruth Brant, two brothers and one sister. Survived by these children: Mrs. Fern E. Lyzbicki of Corrigansville, Md.; Norman E, of Somerset RD 1; Dean E. of Chambersburg; Blaine W. of Somerset; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A member of the Grace United Methodist Church, VFW Post 554 of Somerset, and Somerset Barracks 3818 Veterans of World War I. He was a retired railroader. Friends are being received at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where services will be be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday (today) with the Rev. Charles Rummel officiating. Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
