Services were held Feb. 21 at East Union Lutheran Church and interment at the Wooster Cemetery, with the Rev. Edward Balint officiating. Born Sept. 1, 1902 in Fort Hill, the sixth child of George Britton McClellan and Lydia (Smith) Cramer. She married Russell Thompson on July 3, 1927. He died in 1949. Along with her husband, she was the owner-operator of a general store in Dalton, Ohio, for many years. After husband's death, she worked as a nurse at Gelndora Nursing Home until retiring in 1983. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Arleen and David Amstutz of Wooster, and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Thompson of Wooster; also 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, one son, James Thompson, died in 1992 and one grandson, Mark Amstutz, died in 1976. Also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Etta Ringer, Pearl Zehner Maurer, Bertha Miller, Esther Bowser and brothers, Frank Cramer and Floyd Cramer. Daily American, February 24, 1994 [T313]
