  MELVIN THORNLEY 
  
  Melvin Thornley, 63, of Franklin (Pa.), formerly of Meyersdale, died July 9
  in Franklin.  Born Aug. 5, 1903, in Rockwood, he was a son of the late Hilton
  and Elizabeth (Matthews) Thornley.  Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Philip
  Dietrick, Youngstown, Ohio.  Private funeral service was held on Tuesday
  afternoon in Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, with Rev. W. A. Cassidy
  officiating.  Interment was made in Union cemetery, Meyersdale.
