"Duck" Thummel, 71, of Addison, died Sept. 18, 2000, in Uniontown Hospital. Born Feb. 10, 1929, in Youngstown. Ohio. Son of the late Clemens and Genevieve (DuPont) Thummel. Survived by his wife, Barbara "Bobbie" (Hardman); a daughter Linda Joyce of Pittsburgh; and sons. Frank LaVecchia, San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Steve LaVecchia, Greenville, S.C.; six grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene Parkington of Fruitland, Fla. He was a longtime member and dispatcher of the Addison Volunteer Fire Department and owned and operated Duck's Restaurant in Addison for 28 years. No viewing or visitation. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Addison Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements by Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence.
