Born Sept. 5, 1952, in Meyersdale, she is the daughter of Lydia (Yoder) Yoder, Grantsville and the late Lloyd E. Yoder. She is also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Marvin Kinsinger, and a great-niece, Kimberly Bender. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Aaron Tice; four brothers, Menno E., Springs; Herman S., Raymond G. and Glenn L. Yoder, all of Grantsville; two sisters, Shirley Kinsinger and Glenda Yoder, both of Grantsville; 19 nieces and nephews; and 37 great-nieces and great-nephews. Irene was a homemaker and helped her husband with the Country Side Produce Auction. Irene accepted Christ as her personal Savior in her youth and was a member of Mountain View Mennonite Church, Salisbury. Irene courageously battled cancer for nearly two years. Although she did not want this illness, she expressed herself as being glad it was herself and not someone else in the family, never complaining, but always thankful for the things that were done for her with a big smile. She was a lover of music. This was very evident in the many, many years she spent singing with the Mountain Anthems. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville. A service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mountain View Mennonite Church. Jerry Yoder and Menno J. Yoder, pastors, officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.newmanfuneralhomes.com.
