Tice, 66, of Road, Grantsville, Md., died Sunday, October 15, 1989, his 45th wedding anniversary, as the result of a multi-car accident on Interstate 81 in Ryan Township near Schuykill. He was returning from a meeting of the Mennonite Disaster Service of Western Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia in Crogan, N.Y. He was born December 7, 1922, in Meyersdale, the son of the late Jonas and Savilla (Yoder) Tice. He was a veal farmer and operated his own trucking business: was a member of the Maple Glen Conservative Mennonite Church, Grantsville, Md.; and served as regional director for the Mennonite Service. He was also active in local and national agricultural organizations. Surviving are his widow, Ruth A. (Yoder) Tice; one son, Daniel A. Tice, Grantsville, Md.; three daughters: Elaine Yoder, Accident, Md.; Doris Lichty, Grantsville, Md.; and Carol Heagy, Annville; three brothers; Monroe J. Tice, Boynton; and Simon J. Tice and Lewis J. Tice, both of Grantsville, Md.; two sisters: Elizabeth Tice and Melda Miller. both of Grantsville, Md.; and 15 grandchildren. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md. Services were conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Maple Glen Conservative Mennonite Church by the Rev. Ivan J. Maust and the Rev. Elmer S. Yoder. Interment, Maple Glen Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews. The Republic, October 19, 1989 [T330]
