  Simon J. Tice, 80, of Grantsville, Md., Dec. 3, 2001, at his residence. 
  Born Sept. 5, 1921, in Elk Lick Township, he was the son of the late Jonas
  and Savilla (Yoder) Tice.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M.
  (Hershberger) Tice, Feb. 6, 1994.  He is survived by two sons: Jason Mark
  Tice, Grantsville; Larry Steven Tice and wife Sue, Middletown; five
  daughters: Marilyn Ruth Tice, Catherine Joyce Schrock and husband Martin;
  Ella May Tice, Patricia Ann Michaels, Candice Faith Knox and husband Fred;
  all of Grantsville, Md.; two brothers: Monroe Tice, Salisbury, and Lewis
  Tice, Grantsville; two sisters; Elizabeth Hershberger and Melda Miller,
  both of Grantsville, Md.; four grandchildren: Ashley Miller, Larry Steven
  Tice II; Sara Tice and Jennifer Knox.  Friends will be received at the
  Newman Funeral Homes, Grantsville, Md. from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on
  Wednesday, Dec 5.  Services will be conducted at Mountain View Christian
  Fellowship at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, with Rev. Jerry Yoder and
  Rev, Henry Tice officiating.  Friends may call at the church one hour prior
  to the services.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.
