Born Dec. 18, 1922 in Wallace, W.Va., the son pf Charles Albert and Manna (Robey) Tipton. Preceded in death by parents, brothers John F. and Benny Tipton, sister Ann Snyder, stepfather Charles Albert "Pat" King. Survived by nieces and nephews, Jeff Snyder of Virginia Beach, Va.; Steven Snyder and wife Chris of Grantville, Pa., Mrs. Douglas W. (Linda) Berkley of Somerset; Dr. Susan Snyder, wife of Dale Thompson of Providence, R.I.; great nieces and nephews; Douglas W. Berkley Jr. and wife Heidi of Pittsburgh; Bradley T. Berkley and wife Julie of Chevy Chase, Md.; Devin and Joseph Thompson of Providence, R.I.; Chantel Snyder of Pittsburgh and great-great-niece Kathryn E. Berkley; first cousin Mrs. Joe (Patsy) Fellers of Southern Pines, N.C. and good friend John. Member of First Christian Church, a 1939 graduate of Somerset High School; attended the University of Pittsburgh; veteran of Army Air Corps World War II; bookkeeper for the former Fike Plumbing and Heating Co. and Gibbs Corporation retiring in 1985. Member of Galleria Gang, and American Legion Post 181. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where a service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Daniel F. Nicksich officiating.
