  Ray Miller Tipton Sr., 74, Tampa, Fla., formerly of Somerset, died Dec. 29,
  1998, at Arbors of Tampa, Tampa, Fla.  Born Feb. 27, 1924, in Somerset, son
  of Frank Webster and Margie Viola (Miller) Tipton.  Preceded in death by
  parents; sisters: Margaret Pauline Whipkey-Mitchell; Betty Walker; and Emma
  Czuba.  Survived by his wife, the former Norma Jean Meyers, to whom he was
  married for 45 years; children: Ray M. Tipton Jr., McGaheysvi Ile, Va.; and
  Mrs. Larry (Amy) Cotterile, Lakeland, Fla.; grandchildren: Randy and Ronald
  Tipton; and Jennifer and Shawn Cotterile.  Brother of: Mrs. Althea Wiltrout,
  Peninsula, Ohio; Mrs. Donald (Mary Etta) Mowl, Washington, Pa.; Frank Tipton
  Jr., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and Clyde Tipton, Peninsula, Ohio.  Attended St.
  Johns Lutheran Church, Tampa, Fla.  Veteran of U.S. Army Air Corps, World
  War II.  Member of the Disabled American Veterans.  Retired in 1981 from
  PennDOT in Somerset.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
  Saturday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will
  be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Mr. John W. Hinton officiating.
  Interment, Somerset County Park. Contributions may be made to Somerset "In
  Touch" Hospice, 1590 North Center Avenue. Somerset, PA. 15501.
