  Joseph Tirko Jr., 82, of Berlin, formerly of Hooversville, died Dec. 11,
  2003, at Meadow View Nursing Center.  Born April 23, 1921, in Listie, son of
  Joseph Sr. and Julia (Volition) Tirko.  Preceded in death by parents; wife,
  the former Vera Umberger; grandson, Robert and 13 brothers and sisters.
  Survived by these children. Catherine, married to Barry Rininger, Robert,
  married to the former Vickie Kaminsky, Joseph, married to the former
  Jacqueline Kennedy and William and friend Mary Weigle, all of Stoystown and
  Randy married to the former. Sheree Gressle of Jennerstown; nine
  grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a
  sister, Doris of Florida.  He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired
  coal miner and carpenter.  Member of Hooversville V.F.W., Central City
  American Legion,	New Baltimore Sportsmen's Clu and U.M.W.A.  Family will
  receive friends from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday
  at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville where service will be held at 11 a.m.
  Monday, Rev. Samuel J. Weible officiating.  Interment P.O.S. of A. Cemetery,
  Hooversville.  Graveside military rites by Somerset County Honor Guard.
