Born Aug. 22, 1910 in Reading Mine, Pa., a son of George and Mary (Simko) Tokar. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons Barry Vaughn and Ronald Franklin Tokar; brother William; sisters Julia Malak, Margaret Golembesky and Elizebeth Finnigan. Survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Dorothy Alice Stull; son, John S. Tokar, married to the former Judy Bolkema, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; grandchildren: Brad and Vicki Tokar, Carla Fanale, John S. III and Anthony Tokar and Cynthia Perry; daughter-in-law Barbara Tokar Koontz and sister Helen DePhillips, both of Somerset. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. He attended school to eighth grade at Reading Mine School and University of Pennsylvania Extension Schools in Stoystown, receiving several certificates in coal mining. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m, Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home Stoystown, where services will be held at 11 am., Wednesday with the Rev. Doug Burns officiating.
