Born July 24, 1915, in New Alexandria, a daughter of Michael and Anna Macyda. Preceded in death by parents; husband, William G. Tokar Sr., who died on Dec. 22, 1986; brothers, Theodore, Steven, John and Charles; sisters, Catherine, Anna and Helen; and daughter-in-law, Wanda Tokar. Survived by son, William G. Tokar Jr., Somerset; and daughter, Betty J. Lapina, Levittown; grandchildren, Sherri L. Lapina-Champey (Joseph), Levittown, Pamela A. Tokar-Ickes (Mark), Somerset; William G. Tokar III (Heather), Somerset; Robert C. Tokar (Regina), Allendale, N.J.; great-grandchildren, Amber Rose Champey and Samantha Jo Champey, Levittown; Joseph M. Champey and Melissa M. Champey, Phoenix; Bradford Ickes and Terrell R. Ickes, Wesley J. Tokar and Ava M. Tokar, all of Somerset; Evan Miu and Peter Miu, Allendale, N.J. Sister of Mary Seleo, Charleroi; and Sophie Roszkowski, Bethlehem. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church and a graduate of high school and LPN school and worked as an LPN at Somerset Community Hospital and did private duty nursing after her retirement. Former Democratic committee woman, founding member of Friedens Mothers Club and blood drive volunteer for the American Red Cross. Also loved to dance, cook, gardening and spending time with close friends. Friends received 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, and from 12 p.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday at Friedens Lutheran Church. The Rev. Edward DeVore officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park.
