TRACHOK, Alvin J. 

Alvin J. Trachok, 87, Davidsville, died April 1, 2008,  at  Aultman Hospital, 
Canton, Ohio. Born Jan. 1, 1921,  in  Johnstown, the son of John and Kathryn 
(Lintakas) Trachok.  Preceded in death by parents; brother, Albert; and sisters,  
Ann Stankan, Verna Syphrit, and Genevieve Thomas.  Survived by wife of 60 years, 
the former Dorcas G. Baer;  sons, R. Kerry, married to Marianne MacCamy, 
Pittsburgh;  and Todd D., married to Suzanne Shuster, Canal Fulton, Ohio; and 
grandchildren, Katie, Megan and Amanda. Brother of  Ruth, widow of Stanley 
Villa, Jerome; and Richard, married to Fran Sumners, Reno, Nev. Also survived by 
sister-in-law, Dorothy Trachok, Jerome. A 1941 graduate of Conemaugh Township 
Area High School, Davidsville. A World War II veteran having served in the U.S. 
Marine Corps. Retired employee of the former Johnstown Works, U.S. Steel Corp., 
with approximately 30 years service. Member of St. David's Evangelical Lutheran 
Church, Davidsville, Jerome Post 802, American Legion and Jerome Nest 556, 
Polish Falcons of American. Viewing from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman 
Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church  Road, Davidsville. Viewing also 
from 10 a.m. until  time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at St. David's Church.  
The Rev. N. Gregory VanDyke, officiating. Interment,  Maple Spring Cemetery, 
Jerome with graveside military  Rites in charge of Conemaugh Valley Marine Corps  
League. Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's  Association, in care of Memorial 
Medical Center,  1086 Franklin St., Johnstown, PA 15905.
