"Hoopie" Traup Jr., 75, Rockwood, died March 20, 1995, at his home. Born April 21, 1919, in Rockwood, son of the late Arthur G. and Ethel Irene (Woy) Traup. Survived by wife, the former Betty Jane Trimpey, to whom he was married for 54 years, and these children: Robert L. Traup, married to the former Judith Miller, Lancaster; Mrs. Jack R. (Carol) Winters, Hollsopple RD 2; Jack A. Traup, married to the former Debra Weller, Rockwood; grandchildren: Eric R., Jason R., Jennifer L. Traup, Erika J., Bethany M., Jaclyn R. Winters and Laura A., Lindsey A., Eh A. Traup, and great-granddaughter, Chloe Traup. Brother of Mrs. Luther S. (Helen) Shaulis Sr., Somerset. Lifetime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Rockwood. Former treasurer of Rockwood Senior Citizens. Member of American Legion Post 279 of Rockwood and VFW Post 554 of Somerset. Had served on Rockwood Borough Council. Retired in 1985 as owner and operator of A.G. Traup Garage and Blacksmith Shop. U.S. Army veteran of World War II, European Theatre. A 1937 graduate of Rockwood High School. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Rev. Randall Marburger and Rev. Jay L. Christner officiating. Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery. No viewing at the church. Contributions may be made to Somerset "In Touch" Hospice, 651 S.
