Travers was a graduate of Baltimore City College, where he played basketball and baseball, but he was best known there as a court coach for almost fifteen years. During his regime from World War days to the late 20's, the Collegians experienced their most successful campaigns on the floor. Travers was head of the commercial dept. until his resignation several years ago because of ill health. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 6, at the Humbert Funeral Home with Rev. G. O. Ritter in charge. Interment in the Addison Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, October 15, 1942
