Travis, former pastor of the Meyersdale Methodist Church and later of the Confluence charge, died July 21, in the Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington, at the age of 75. He was a graduate of Allegheny College, Meadville, and Boston University and was a member of the Meyersdale Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Pennsylvania Consistory, Syria Temple, and the Masonic Veterans Association. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sue (Haines) Travis, and daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ann Tinatman, both of New Kensington. He was a very able and popular minister. His last pastorate was the Centenary Methodist Church, Sharpsburg. He retired after serving five years there. Funeral services were held in the Union Centenary M.E. Church, at Irwin, with interment in the Irwin cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, August 1, 1946
