  Dorothy Fern Trent, 82, Fort Hill, formerly of Somerset, died Dec. 26,
  1998, at Meyersdale Medical Center.  Born March 13, 1916, in Listie,
  daughter of Millard E and Fannie Mae (Trent) Shatter.  Preceded in death by
  parents, brother Glenn Shaffer and sisters Mary Jane Gauntz and Rebecca
  Miller.  Survived by brothers, Jack D. Shaffer, married to the former Alice
  DePhillips of Somerset, and George E. Shaffer, married to the former Leila
  Gary of Somerset.  A 1934 graduate of Friedens High School.  Member of Listie
  Grace Brethren Church.  Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m.
  Wednesday, with the Rev. Ronzil L. Jarvis officiating.  Interment, Listie
  Cemetery.  Contributions may be made to Listie Grace Brethren Church,
  Listie, Pa., 15549.
