Trent, 68, of Richland, died Aug. 17, 1997, at home. Born July 23, 1929, in Wellscreek, son of the late Morris and Sarah (Day) Trent. Also preceded in death by brothers: Clyde, Harvey, Merle and Frank, and sisters: Vietta Baer and Gladys Gluhak. Survived by loving wife of 48 years, the former Romaine Welker; children: Susan, wife of Tony Malinovsky, Indiana; Robin, and Gary married to the former Coreen Fenton, both of Johnstown; and Craig, married to the former Janice Burkett, Md. Also survived by grandchildren: Chad, Jason and Aaron. Brother of Kenneth and wife, Kay; Walter, Mary Witt and Dora Logue, all of Somerset; Eddie and wife, Virginia, Michigan; and Bill of Beaver. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and close friend, Tony Mondi. An Army veteran. Retired from Schmidt Baking Co. with 39 years of service. Member of Johnstown Football Club; American Legion Post 849; Teamsters Local 110. A VFW social member. Mr. Trent was an avid fisherman and hunter. A member of Arbutus Church of the Brethren, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Barron Deffenbaugh. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Friends will he received from 2 to 9 p.m Tuesday at The Harris Funeral Home Inc., 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Contributions may he made to the Arbutus Church of the Brethren.
