Born May 4, 1924, in Friedens, son of Mervin McKinley and Grace Marie (Walker) Trent. Preceded in death by his father; brother, Mervin M. Trent Jr. and sister, Betty Weaver. Survived by his mother, Grace Marie Trent of Somerset; his wife, the former Alice Jane Hoover, to whom he was married 51 years; Children, Mrs. Chester J. (Sharon) Singer, Warren, Pa.; David J. Trent, married to the former Renee Stanczyk, Somerset RD 2; and Mrs. Ronald (Deborah) Slavens, Boardman, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Katharine and Sean Singer; Shannon, Trista and Brandon Trent; Michael and Christina Slavens. Brother of Bruce W. Trent, Friedens RD 1; Donald R. Trent, Friedens RD 1; Rbbert L. Trent, Somerset; Mrs. Guy (Nora) Sechler, Somerset RD 1; Lewis D. Trent, Friedens; and foster sister, Mrs. John (Pauline) Hoover; Somerset. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard, Ohio. Veteran U.S. Air Force, World War II from 1942-1945. Mechanic for Cooper-Jarrett Trucking, retiring in 1982, with 18 years service. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, with the Rev. David Jack officiating.
