TRESSLER The body of Pfc. Chauncy H. Tressler, veteran of World War II, arrived in Meyersdale on Monday evening, Nov. 17, for funeral services and reburial in Union Cemetery. His remains recently arrived in this country aboard the U.S.S. Joseph V. Connolly, and was escorted to Meyersdale by Russel Kohler, Jr. Pfc. Tressler is the second of Meyersdale's war dead to be returned home for burial. He met his death in action Nov. 4, 1944, while serving with the armed forces in Belgium, and was originally interred in Belgian soil. The deceased, born in Meyersdale May 2, 1922, is survived by his mother, Mrs. Vena (Burley) Tressler, one brother, Conrad Tressler, West Salisbury, four sisters, Mrs. Mary Yoder, Mrs. Betty Deist and Mrs. Delores Beal, all of Meyersdale, and Mrs. Sally Lowry, Coal Run. His father, Chauncy Tressler, World War I veteran, preceded him in death. Funeral services, including full military honors, were conducted at the Price Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 19, at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. H. K. Hilner, pastor, officiating. Military rites were conducted by members of Charles E. Kelly Post No. 112, American Legion, and John C. Tressler Post No. 3504, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Interment was made in Union Cemetery, under the direction of W. C. Price and Son. Meyersdale Republican, November 20, 1947
