Tressler, 82, Lake Milton, Ohio, died Jan. 17, 1999, at North Side-Forum Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio. Born March 2, 1916, in Humbert, a son of the late Commodore and Lena (Smith) Tressler. In addition to his parents, preceded in death by a sister, Margarite Tressler. Survived by wife, Esther (Gerhart) Tressler, 3 daughters, Glenda Smith of Bowie, Md., Rebecca Tressler, Sabina, Ohio, and Elizabeth Andriko, Newton Falls, Ohio; 2 grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Freda Shumaker, Austintown, Ohio, and Ruth McDonaugh, Uniontown. Retired carpenter and member of Union Local #171 of Youngstown and the Cleveland Carpenters Union. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 872 Ordinance HAM, in the European Theater. A life member and past commander of the American Legion Post 737, Lake Milton. A member of Newton Falls V.F.W. Post 3332 and the Pricetown United Methodist Church. Friends received from 2-9 p.m; Wednesday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. William Triebe officiating.
