(Buck) II Grant C. "Buck" Tressler II, 24, Meyersdale, died Aug. 11, 2007, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Born Aug. 3, 1983, in Cumberland, Md., a son of Carol A. (Schmader) Tressler, Meyersdale and Grant C. Tressler Sr., Salisbury. Along with his parents, Grant is survived by Grant Sr.'s best friend, Kathy Schartiger; three sisters, Chelsey Tressler, at home; Joslyn, wife of Brian Dermer and their children, Faith and Wyatt Dermer; and Patty, wife of William Scott Durrence and their child, Jaden. Also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents and two uncles. Grant was an avid mountain biker, enjoying many bike trails in the surrounding area. He was dedicated to working out at the gym. He was involved in the spirit of race car driving, and he helped Travis Smith and Mark Smith at the track in Jennerstown. He enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle. He owned and operated Maple City Cycle in Meyersdale, where he honed his skills as a bicycle mechanic. Before his recent illness, he was employed at Route 31 Board and Ski, and also at Hidden Valley Resort as head lifeguard. Grant graduated from Meyersdale Area High School in 2001 and was a student at UPJ, where he was pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering. Grant waged a brave and courageous battle with frequent infections and hospital-inactions due to chronic granulomatous disease, an immune deficiency disorder. Grant will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, his quick wit and love of people. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will held 11 a.m. Wednesday at SS. Philip and James Catholic Church. The Very Rev. James M. Dugan, VF, celebrant. Committal will follow at the Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
