Tressler, 70, South Edgewood Avenue, Somerset, died July 7, 1984, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born Jan. 13, 1914, in Summit Township, a son of the late Darland and Emma (Herwig) Tressler. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Rayman and one sister, Violet Ardary. He is survived by his wife, Laura Mae (Sipe) and these children: Shirley, wife of Robert Harvonek, Ft. Charlotte, Fla.; Betty, wife of Orie Hepler, Carnberry, Pa.; Judy, wife of Blair Henry, Markelton; and Jacqueline, wife of Dale Matieszyn, Berlin; one son, James, of Greensburg; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and these brothers and sisters: Ellroy of Gettysburg; Harry of Somerset; Willard of Texas; Robert of Stoystown; Mrs. Roger Hosmer, Confluence; and one half-brother, Kenneth Schrock of Jenners. He was a member of the Christian-Missionary Alliance Church, Somerset, and a retired self-employed carpenter. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 Monday at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home. Funeral services Tuesday 1:30 p.m. in the Alliance Church, the Rev. James Vandervort and the Rev. Aimee W. Twigg officiating. His body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
