Born Feb. 26, 1935 in Springs, he was the son of the late Resley and Florence (Briskey) Tressler. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ernestine (Rainey) Tressler and second, wife, Pauline (Roth) Tressler, also four brothers, Resley, Jr., (Johnny) Tressler, Duane Tressler, Abraham Tressler; two sisters, Rita Hollada and Beulah Maust. Survived by his companion, Lena "Sissy" Schartiger; six sons, Dennis Bradley Tressler, Barry Dean Tressler, Steven Tressler, all of Florida; Kennith Michael Thompson, Wyo., Gary Lee Thompson Sr., Marvin Wendell Tressler Jr., both of Cumberland, Md.; four daughters: Marina Gayle, Tangonan, Hawaii; Karain Sue Thompson, Theresa Marvette Shook, Taffy Pauline Tressler, all of Cumberland, Md.; three brothers, Donald Tressler, Salisbury, Bradley Tressler. Kentucky; Mark "Tony" Tressler, Jarrettsville, Md.; three sisters: Violet Hovatter, Salisbury, Evelyn Doerr, Accident, Md., his twin, Marvette Hollada, Salisbury, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a master carpenter/craftsman. A member of the Handymen's Club of America, NRA, VFW Home Aid Association, AARP Bowling League, and the North Garrett Bowling Association. He loved to hunt and fish. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Newman Funeral Homes, Pa., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, Md. where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating. Interment in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Md. Those serving as pallbearers are Marc Yonkers Gary Thompson Jr., Ron Schartiger, Ed Hollada, Ed Maust, and Jim Tressler. Contributions may be directed in care of the family.
