Her husband was killed in the mines in 1932, her son was killed in the same mines in 1936. She is survived by her daughters, Misses Ethel and Margaret, at home and Mrs. Emerson Miller, of Johnstown, and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Carns, also of Johnstown. Mrs. Tressler's death came as a great shock to her family and friends, for none knew that she was suffering any serious ailment. She prepared supper as usual that evening and had as her guest her sister-in-law, Miss Grace Tressler. Her daughter, Ethel, walked part way home with Miss Tressler after all had enjoyed together a pleasant evening. On her return to the house, Miss Ethel found her mother on the kitchen floor just as she was breathing her last breath. Services were held on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home. Rev. Howard K. Hilner, pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church, had charge of the services. Interment was made in Union Cemetery, under the direction of H. R. Konhaus, local mortician. The floral tributes sent by sorrowing friends were many and beautiful. Meyersdale Republican, December 11, 1941
