Trevarrow, 71, former Somerset County Commissioner died at his home in Somerset Saturday night, June 19. Although his health had been impaired for several months he was not regarded as seriously ill. He was able to be about his home until he was stricken about noon Saturday. A staunch Republican his entire life, Mr. Trevarrow served two terms as a member of the Board of Somerset County Commissioners, having been elected to the board in 1932. Prior to assuming the county position, Mr. Trevarrow served for a number of years as a member of the Somerset Borough Council. He was engaged in the contracting business, specializing in the building of highways and bridges, since 1900. Born in Johnstown, November 24, 1872, he was a son of Thomas and Mary (Crozier) Trevarrow, members of a pioneer Johnstown family. He spent his early manhood in Johnstown and came to Somerset County in 1896 to become superintendent at the Bear Rocks stone quarry, located near Somerset. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary (Binger) Trevarrow and one daughter, Miss Mary Trevarrow, at home. A son, Howard Richard Trevarrow, died in 1924. There are two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in the Charles R. Hauger Funeral Home by Rev. Dr. I. Hess Wagner, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church. The pall-bearers were members of the Somerset lodge of Masons to which he belonged. The body was laid to rest in the family plot in the Union Cemetery, Somerset, where many persons gathered to pay their last respects to a well known citizen. Meyersdale Republican, July 1, 1943
