Trimpey, 74 of Somerset, died July 3, 1999, at Somerset Hospital. Born Oct. 19, 1924, in Kingwood, he was the son of the late Clarence Edward and Jennie Mae (Hoover) Trimpey. Survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Sara Mason, and three daughters: Sharon, married to Larry Waligora, of Columbia, Md.; LeAnn, married to Kim Young of Ellicott City, Md., and JoEllen, married to Ken Sines, of Columbia, Md. Four grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Bowers of Lewistown. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Somerset, VFW Post 554, Somerset American Legion, BPO Elks Lodge 1951, Meyersdale; National Rifle Association and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Trimpey was raised in Jenners, and served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1951 in both World War II and Korean War. Member of Company B, 153rd Engineers. Resided in Somerset since 1951 and owned and operated Trimpey's Barber Salon from 1951 to 1997. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 today (Tuesday) at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Roger Forry officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
