"Emmie" Tucker, 71, of Garrett died Oct. 24, 2001 at his home. Born Aug. 3, 1930 in Berkleys Mill. A son of the late John and Fern (Sterner) Tucker. Also preceded in death by his step-father, Homer Bush. Survived by his wife the former Shirley Stevanus; and these children: Vickie (Tucker) Gnagey, Garrett; Donna, wife of Ron Brown, Edie; Edwin H., married to the former Cathy Nicholson, Berlin; Brenda, wife of Donald Oester, Springs; Tammie Tucker, Garrett; Debra, wife of Charles Wilson, Somerset; and Michael A., married to the former Amy Snyder, Summit Mills. Also two adopted daughters: Sue Sanner, Garrett, and Andrea Chonko, Meyersdale. Eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A brother of Jay D. Tucker, Garrett. A member of the Grace United Church of Christ, Garrett. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown, and Somerset Auto Parts. "Emmie" was a former coach for the Meyersdale Jr. Legion baseball team, and was an avid Notre Dame football fan. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Ken Davis officiating.
