"Dude" Charles B. "Dude" Turko, 64, Buckstown, died Oct. 15, 2007, in Shade Township. Born June 25, 1943, in Cairnbrook, son of Charles and Ann (Gerney) Turko. Preceded in death by his father. Survived by his mother; wife of 36 years, the former Joan "Cookie" Bisel; daughters, Lori Niemiec, married to Joseph, Acosta; and Tanya Deihl, married to Scott, Annville; grandson, Nicholas Niemiec; sister, Donna Kubek, married to Mike, Central City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Blaine and Eileen Baker, Somerset; Duane and Diana Shaulis, Hanover; and Blaine and Bloomie Bisel, Florida; nephew of Helen Yantus, Central City; and Dewey Gerney, California; special cousin, Chip Petronick, Hooversville. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a retired equipment operator for PennDOT. Member of Graef's Lutheran Church, Cairnbrook. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking mushrooms and gardening. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where a service will be held 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Robert Way officiating.
