Turner, widow of George C. Turner, died suddenly at 8:15 a.m., September 28, 1942 at her home on the National Pike, near Shade Mills. She had been in failing health for the past year, but for the past six months had been very active about her home, and on the fatal morning had arisen and was in the act of preparing breakfast when she was stricken with a heart attack. She was born near the place she made her home on Sept. 15, 1876, and was united in marriage to George C. Turner in 1896. Surviving are the following children: Catherine Turner, Wellsburg, W.Va.; Frank, at home; and Weaver, near Frostburg, Md. Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, with Rev. V. R. Gillum, Methodist pastor, officiating, and interment was made in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Those attending from out of town were Mrs. Jennie Turner Weaver, and her daughter Sarah, Buckhannon, Va.; Mrs. Mollie Frost Turner, Baltimore, Md.; Mr. and Mrs. James Michael and Mrs. Geo. McGeary, Youngstown, Ohio; Private H. J. Hummel, Jackson Air Base, Jackson, Miss., and Mrs. Annabelle Dawson, Piedmont, W.Va. Meyersdale Republican, October 8, 1942
