"Wally" Turner, 45, of Friedens, went to be with the Lord, May 27, 2003 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital because of complications from a liver transplant. Born Nov. 16, 1957 in Ypsilanti, Mich., son of Walter N. and Beverly (Colton) Turner of Hollsopple. Also survived by loving companion of 22 years, Colene Miller. Brother of Betsy Lynn married to James Jones of Johnstown, Brenda Sue married to Daniel Hay of Springfield, Mo., Mark Daniel Turner of Westminster, Md., Rachel M. married to Rev. Paul VanKesteren of St. Mary's Ontario, Canada, Curtis D. married to the former Amy Blough of South Fork and Master Sgt. Jeremy S. Turner U.S.A.F. and wife Patricia of Dayton, Ohio. Also 16 nieces and nephews and his loving dog "Tillie". He will be sadly missed by relatives and friends. A 1976 graduate of Shade high school. Self employed carpenter. He was an avid hunter and collector of local Indian relics, especially arrowheads. He truly enjoyed the outdoors. Member of Somerset County Ducks Unlimited, and Authentic Artifact Collectors Association. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle. Rev. Chauncey J. Ickes officiating. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
