Turner, 64, of Stoystown RD 3, died June 12, 1980 in Mercy Hospital, Johnstown. He was born Aug. 21, 1915 in Bard, son of Curtis and Pearl (Housel) Turner. He was preceded in death by parents, brother Earl and two infant sons. He is survived by widow, the former Martha Cottle, whom he married June 21, 1935, and these children: Walter N., married to Beverly Colton, Hollsopple RD 2; George M., married to Karen Ankeny, Central City; David E., married to Lois Smith, Somerset; Emerson J., married to Darlene Byers, Stoystown RD 3; 16 grandchildren. He was a brother of Mrs. Warren (Naomi Turner) Smith, Mrs. Donald (June) Conover, and Dale Miller, married to Nancy Holsopple, all of Bedford; Mrs. Glenn (Lola) Turner, Manns Choice; Roy Miller, married to Frances Meallus, Everett; Robert Miller, married to Ruth Cottle, Ashtabula, Ohio ; Dean Miller, married to Diane College, Washington, Pa.; and John Miller, married to Zelda Kinser, Berlin. He was retired from Highland Tank and Manufacturing Co., Stoystown in 1970, and was a member of Reading Mines Grace Brethren Church. Friends were received at the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Services were held with the Rev. Larry R. Weigle. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. If friends wish, instead of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
