Born Feb. 3, 1922, in Ralphton, son of James M. and Violet M. (Pugh) Turney. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Marie Henriette (Clement) Turney; sisters: Edna, Ethel Lohr, Patricia. Survived by twin sons: James R. Jr., Garrett; and Geoffrey M. Sr., Florida, and grandsons: Geoffrey M. Jr. and wife, Gloria; and Charles Andrew. Also brothers and sisters: Sara Leventry, Stoystown; Charles, Boswell; and Violet Ben ford, Rockwood; Verna, Berlin; and John, Latrobe; and numerous nieces and nephews: He was retired from Scurfield Coal Co. Veteran of World War II and Korea. Life-time member of the Lutheran Church. Also member of the Masons and Elks. Amateur radio operator N3CRC and formerly K3ZXK. Services are scheduled for Dec. 9 in Fort Pierce. Memorial service at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at Homer Lutheran Church, Homer Church Road, Stoystown, with the Rev. Michael H. Tamorria officiating.
