TURNEY Marshall Solomon Turney, one of Confluence's oldest residents, died at his home on Sterner Street on Sunday, Jan. 11th, at 1 p.m. He was 84 years, 5 months, 11 days old, having been born on July 30, 1857, near Accident, Garrett County, Maryland, the son of the late William and Hatilda Hileman Turney. His boyhood days were spent near Addison. He married Miss Hannah Miller on January 27, 1885, and in 1895 moved to Confluence where he resided until his death. Mr. Turney was respected by many friends and acquaintances in this territory. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Men's Bible Class for quite a number of years. Two sons, Fred and Lewis, preceded him to the grave. He is survived by his wife and one son, John, of Confluence; also by eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fulmer of Garrett. The funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. S. L. Burson, pastor of the Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Addison Cemetery.
