She was a daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Dryden Hickson, and was married to Edward S. Turvey in 1902. She was reared in the community where she was born, at Coal Run. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. K. Goldsby, 234 Hollywood Boulevard, Steubenville, Ohio, Apr. 8, 1943. Her husband preceded her in death in 1933. For 33 years she was a resident of Amsterdam, O., and served that town 12 years as postmaster. Mrs. Turvey is survived by these children: Mrs. A. K. Goldsby, Mrs. R. E. Johnson and Beryl E. Turvey of Steubenville, and three grandchildren; also by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. M. D. West and Mrs. J. F. Yingling, Amsterdam, O.; Richard Hickson, Monongahela, Pa.; Mrs. James Hotchkiss, Canonsburg, Pa.; Mrs. W. E. Turvey, Bergholz, O. Mrs. Turvey, while a resident of Amsterdam, was affiliated with the Methodist Church, but after locating in Steubenville, with the Grace Lutheran Church, and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends, including many in the community where she was born and reared in her native state. Her funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Amsterdam, where most of her life was spent.
