Uhl, 97, South Center Ave., Somerset, died Feb. 9, 1982, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 2, 1884, in Somerset, a son of Solomon and Mary (Snyder) Uhl. Preceded in death by parents; his wife, Mary Allison; and one sister, Marian Uhl Young. Survived by two neices [sic]: Mrs. Porter Huntington, Johnstown, and Mrs. Charles Legters, Baltimore, Md. He was a member of the First Christian Church, served as deacon and secretary-treasurer for 46 1/2 years; treasurer and director of the Husband Cemetery Assn. for many years; charter member of Somerset Lions Club, served as treasurer for 29 years; member of Somerset F&AM Lodge 358 and New Castle Consistory; and Somerset I.O.O.F. Lodge 438. He was employed by Consolidation Coal Company for 23 years and served as office manager of Penelec 21 years, retired in July, 1949. Friends will be received 3-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday (today) in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Gene C. Sellers officiating.
