Born June 26, 1906, in Hollsopple. She was the daughter of George and Ella (Keafer) Eash. Preceded in death by parents; husband Paul S. Unger, who died April 23, 1980; a son David Ray; grandson Brian and a great-grandson Zyne; brothers Henry, Jake, Warren and Earnest; sisters Gertie Hockins, Ertie Hawkins. Survived by these children: Donald, married to the former Twila Holsopple, Dalton Run; Elizabeth, wife of Robert Benson, Jerome; Paul Jr., married to the former Jacqueline Wollman, Anaheim, Calif. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was a sister of Frances Jenkins, Johnstown; Marie Kaufman, Church of the Brethren Home; brothers Merle Eash, Hershey; Jay Dean Eash, Bangor, Calif; and Clair Eash Laurelwood, Johnstown. She was a member of Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church, Jennerstown where she was a member of the Knotty Women. She was an avid quilter. She was also a member of the Jerome Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was the last of the three golden girls. At age 18 she worked at the Jazza Hill Co. Store. She also helped to raise Barb and Barry McDonald. Family receiving friends from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laurel Trinity Lutheran Church. Remains will lie in state from 10 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Larry Hoover officiating. Interment Maple Springs Cemetery.
