Unger, 92, Hollsopple, went to be with her Lord, Oct. 28, 2007, at Windber Medical Center. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born March 28, 1915, in Hollsopple, a daughter of Henry and Dulcie (Shaffer) Kaufman. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 47 years, Richard G. Unger; foster son, Robert Ratenke, infant brother, John Henry; sisters, Kathryn Garland and Helen Shaffer; brothers-in-law, Wolford Garland and Richard Shaffer; nephew, Richard Shaffer Jr.; and great-nephew, Peter Phillips. Survived by these children, Kathy, widow of Clyde Bailey, and John, married to the former Sue Stutzman, both of Hollsopple. Also survived by grandchildren, Maribeth and husband, Daniel Kiser, Johnstown; Victoria and husband, Edward Desort, York; Angel and husband, Scott Mader, Johnstown; Joby and fiancee, Ann Landreph, South Carolina; and Stephen Unger, Atlanta, Ga. Also survived by great-grandchildren, who she loved and enjoyed very much, Miranda and Delanie Kiser, Nicholas Mader and Hailey Desort. Also survived by niece, Alice and husband, Peter Phillips and great-niece, Jenifer, married to Kenneth Pipkin, both of Baltimore. A member of Dunmyer Lutheran Church, Elton and a former member of Benscreek Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher in the junior and senior department. A former choir member in Lutheran Women's group. A graduate of Ferndale Area High School with an academic letter. A former Girl Scout leader and member of Wayside Garden Club and the former Conemaugh Township Dutch Society. Former employee of Alwine's Dairy and Restaurant. She enjoyed knitting, especially dishcloths and baby booties and doing crafts, being outdoors and tending her flowers. She was a very devoted reader of her Bible. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the George E. Mason Funeral Home Inc., Davidsville. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Dunmyer Lutheran Church, Elton. Niela Cogan, pastor, officiating. Interment, Thomas Mennonite Cemetery.
