Unger, 72, Hollsopple RD 2, died June 21, 1988, at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. Born Jan. 1, 1916, in Jerome, son of Bruce and Elizabeth (Stevens) Unger. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Paul and Lester. Survived by wife, the former Mary Kaufman, and two children: Mary "Kathy," wife of Clyde Bailey, Johnstown RD 7; and John R., married to the former Sue Stutzman, Hollsopple RD 2; also five grandchildren: Maribeth, Angel and Joby Bailey and Victoria and Stephen Unger. Brother of Elsie, widow of Charles Burkett, and Mary Unger, both of Gray; Margaret, wife of Clair Eash, Johnstown; Dorothy, widow of Charles Pugh, Boswell RD 2; and Helen, wife of Ray Kolinski, Boswell. Member of the Dunmyer Lutheran Church, Elton. Army Air Force veteran of World War II having served as a medic in the South Pacific Theatre. Had been assistant greenskeeper for former North Fork Country Club and greenskeeper of the former Elks Country Club. Also retired employee of Sunnehanna Country Club. Friends received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday witha [sic] the Rev.
