  RUSSELL C. UPHOLD SR.
  
    Russell Clarence Uphold Sr., 64, of Grantsville, Md., died
  Thursday, March 29, 1990, at Meyersdale Community Hospital.
    Born May 17, 1925, at Morgantown W.Va. he was the son of the late
  E.H. and Lizzie Blanche (Metheny) Uphold.
    He retired as a truck driver from the M & S Sand Quarry.  He was a
  member of the Maranatha Assembly of God Church and was an army
  veteran of World War II.
    Surviving are his widow, Leone (Smith) Uphold; five sons: Russell
  Clarence Uphold Jr., Robert Uphold and Raymond Uphold, Grantsville,
  Md., Jimmy Uphold and Gene Allen Uphold, Morgantown, WV; four
  daughters: Harriett Uphold, Oakland, Md.; Arlene Mitchell,
  Confluence; Carol McDonald and Janice Denjen, Morgantown, WV; one
  sister, Mary Raymond, Morgantown, WV; and 13 grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home in Grantsville,
  Md., where services were conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. W.
  W. Martin.
    Interment, Mount Calvary Cemetery, Morgantown, WV.
