Robert S. URBAN

Robert S. Urban, 78, Friedens, passed away in peace, Sept. 7, 2008, at Golden 
Living Center, Meyersdale.  Born Aug. 3, 1930, in Listie, the son of Michael and 
Florence (Newcomber) Urban. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Vivian Urban 
and Mildred Mosholder; brothers, Wheeler and Richard Urban.  Survived by his 
wife of 54 years, the former Hilda Hershberger; children, Sheree married to 
Joseph Martarano, Bloomsburg; Jeff and wife, Amy, McAdoo; Aubrey and wife, Carol 
(Howard), Lincroft, N.J.; Vaun, Friedens; Shaun and wife, Georgia (Handwerk), 
Berlin; Cori, married to Robert Thompson, Tresckow; grandchildren, Kelly and 
Ashleigh Urban, Angelo and Lucia Martarano, Kayla Barnick, Amanda, Benjamin and 
Cassandra Urban, Zechariah Thompson and Catherine Urban; great-grandchildren, 
Maria and Devin Barnick and Avery Deitrich.  Also survived by twin brother, 
Jimmy, Clendinin, W.Va., and sister, Jean Pensiero, Somerset.  A 1948 graduate 
of Friedens High School and a decorated Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.  
Retired Local 3 iron worker.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 
p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held 3 
p.m. Wednesday.  The Rev. Gerald Deffenbaugh officiating.  Interment, Somerset 
County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
